Tense

There are 3 tenses in English Grammar. They are Past Tense, Present Tense and Future Tense. Past Tense say about an event that occurred in the past. Present tense says about an event that is occurring now and future tense says about an event that will occur in the future.

Each of these tenses are further divided into 4 as Simple, Continuous, Perfect and Perfect Continuous. So there are a total of 12 Tenses in English and they are given below.

Simple Present

Present Continuous

Present Perfect

Present Perfect continuous

Simple Past

Past Continuous

Past Perfect

Past Perfect continuous

Simple Future

Future Continuous

Future Perfect

Future Perfect continuous.
