Future Continuous Tense is used to say that an action will be continuing in the future at a fixed time. When we use the word “When” to connect two sentences to use future continuous tense, the sentence that comes along with when is used in simple present tense and the other sentence is said in future continuous tense.

Sub + will/shall + be + verb + ing + Obj

If adverbs like at this time, at this time next are used then it should be said in future continuous tense.

  • At this time tomorrow, we will be flying over the Atlantic.
  • Rani will be sitting in the train this time next Friday.
  • The boys will be playing football at this time next week.
  • My dog will be waiting for me when I reach home.

Time words like tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, next Sunday etc are used in simple future tense and future continuous tense. To identify in which tense these words are used, check the verb. If verb is in V1 form then it is in simple future tense and if verb is in ing form, then it is in future continuous tense.
