There are 4 types of Sentences in English Language. They are

- Assertive Sentence or Declarative Sentence
- Imperative Sentence
- Interrogative Sentence
- Exclamatory Sentence
1. Assertive Sentence
An assertive Sentence or Declarative Sentence is a sentence which makes a statement or expression or an opinion. If said in another words it simply makes a declaration. An Assertive sentence ends with a period.
Eg:
- I want to be a photographer. (Makes a statement)
- My Friend is a really good photographer. (Expresses an opinion)
2. Imperative Sentence
An Imperative Sentence gives a command or makes a wish.
Eg:
- Please Come in.
- Shut Up
3. Interogative Sentence
An interogative Sentence asks a question. This Types of question usually begins with who, what, where, when, why, how or do and ends with a question mark.

- When are you going to Bangalore?
Interogative Sentences can be classified into two. They are
Wh questions and Yes or No Questions
Wh Questions
Wh questions are the questions that begin with Wh… like What, Where, Who, When and Why.
Eg: Why are you late today?
Yes or No Questions
Yes or No questions are the questions whose answers are either a Yes or a No.
Eg: Did you bring Lunch Today?
4. Exclamatory Sentence
An Exclamatory Sentence is a sentence that expresses great emotions such as excitement, surprise, happiness and anger and this type of sentence ends with an exclamation point.
Eg: It is too dangerous to climb that mountain.
